Live Album Vinyl, CD, Download, Stream

A couple of years ago I found an old MiniDisc containing the one and only live appearance of Cathode Ghosts, which was way back at the end of 1997.

The gig was at a bar in Southam, Warwickshire, which was, back then anyway, quite a small market town.  I had lived there all my life and popped into the Three Choices most weeks.  It was a quiet place and I was never a pub going kind of guy, teetotal for a start.

One night I got chatting the the landlord and I mentioned I was

musician.  He asked me if I would like to perform live  as he was always looking for entertainment, particularly during long midweek evenings during the winter.

I agreed to a performance but I didn't really have the confidence to perform on my own.  A friend of a friend

introduced me to a couple of local musicians, we met up and practiced a bunch of tracks I had been working on.  This was at the beginning of the summer.

We met up most weeks and by the autumn we were a pretty good working unit.  A date was arranged for December 11th 1997.  A horrible, rainy winter's evening, I seem to recall.

We got up on stage - well stood in the corner - and went through 13 tracks I'd written over the previous 18 months or so.  All instrumental apart from the occasional use of a vocoder.

Ten tracks will appear on the finished album.  It will be on all streamers and also available on vinyl and CD.  Release date is my 60th birthday, 28th October.

The audience weren't particularly interested; they were out for their Christmas drinks, etc, but we did get a few polite applause.  I remember at the end a guy came up to me and said he liked what we were doing.  Made it worth it.

14th October 2025

A new EP entitled, The Robot Who Broke My Heart, will be released two weeks today, 28th October 2025, which just happens to be my 60th birthday!  Blimey, how did that happen?

The EP will be released as a six-track version on all the streamers such as Spotify, Apple, YT Music, etc and also as a six-track CD available via Elastic Stage.

There will also be a four-track 12" vinyl version.

The title track was also a first, well a first for bascially forty years, as it was a collaboration with a friend called James, who kindly added guitar and bass to the track.  So grateful, as it makes the track extra special.

7th January 2026

A new digital single We Own The Stars is released today on all streaming
services.  The single contains two tracks, We Owned The Stars, an uptempo slice of electropop with a driving bass and vocodered vocals.

The second track is an instrumental called The Night She Whispered Dreams. Again, both songs are about lost love and a particular lost lover.

There will be a CD and vinyl version of the single, which will appear sometime in February 2026.  This release will contain two extra tracks, exclusive to physical formats.
