Cathode Ghosts is the musical project of Simon Young, originally from Southam in Warwickshire, but who now lives in Warwick.
Simon started making music in the early 80s with a school friend. They
continued making music together until the late 80s.
Simon gave up music making at the start of the 90s and it wasn't until the end of 1997 when he made a live appearance at the Three Choices bar in Southam with two acquaintances (not seen since!) that he regained his
passion for making music. They performed 12 new songs in front of a pretty disinterested audience made up of people having a quiet and groups of co-workers enjoying get-togethers.
The performance was recorded and Simon recently found the cassette. This is being cleaned up and will be released on vinyl and CD in the New Year.
Again, Simon took a hiatus from music until the beginning of the new century when he started using FL Studio to create tracks on his PC.
Over the last twenty-five years Simon has continued to make and release music and made it available on vinyl, CD and MiniDisc in physical format and also on all streaming services.
Some of his output is uptempo with a beat, but the majority is ambient in nature.
Subject matter is varied from technology, the world around us and lost love.
